Shane Rhodes, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Shane D. Rhodes is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association. He is also a member in good standing of the following: American Podiatric Medical Association; California Podiatric Medical Association; Los Angeles County Podiatric Medical Society; and, the American Diabetes Association, Professional Section-Podiatric Medicine Council.

Dr. Rhodes is currently an active member of the medical staff at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and a physician at the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Wound Care Center. He is also on staff at Glendale Adventist Medical Center and Verdugo Hills Hospital.

Born and raised in Los Angeles County, Dr. Rhodes excelled in multiple sports and played Division I college baseball throughout his undergraduate studies. He has previously attended Syracuse University and the University of California at Irvine, where he completed his undergraduate education with two degrees: a bachelor of science in biological sciences and a bachelor of arts in anthropological studies. His medical studies were completed at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, where he became a member of the Pi Delta National Honor Society for academic excellence while attending medical school.

Dr. Rhodes completed two years of podiatric surgical residency at the Monrovia Community Hospital Foot and Ankle Institute. During his second year of residency, he served as chief resident and was involved with the coordination of the hospitals' continuing medical education programs, including giving regular lectures and publishing research. At the time of his residency, he was also a member of the Baja Project for Crippled Children, a volunteer organization committed to the diagnosis and treatment of lower extremity disorders for the underprivileged in Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico. Dr. Rhodes has continued his volunteer work by making regular visits to the local senior centers.

Established in two locations, Santa Clarita and Glendale, California, Dr. Rhodes enjoys meeting and treating patients of all ages. He has been specifically trained in surgery, diabetic foot and wound care, sports medicine, diseases of the skin and nails, neurological diseases, as well as bone and muscle abnormalities of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Rhodes and his wife have been longtime residents of Valencia and are attracted to the family-driven atmosphere of the Santa Clarita Valley. He enjoys spending time playing and reading with his children, as well as teaching them sports and taking them to sporting events. He also takes pleasure in entertaining friends and family at his home, and is always ready and willing to fire up the barbecue. Over the years he has become an accomplished woodworker, spending his free time making much of his own homes' furniture.
